Karen Pickles President - Producer - Director
Karen is an inspired and tenacious team leader with 20+ years’ experience developing, writing, financing and producing series, feature film, corporate, commercials, and web content. She is a strong communicator who uses both sides of her brain by infusing innovative creativity and rigorous fiscal and legal management into every production. Karen has worked with Joni Mitchell, Jean Grand-Maitre and The Alberta Ballet, Tom Green, and many other internationally renowned artists.
After developing two seasons of the original Tom Green Show for Rogers Television, Karen joined Voice Pictures where she learned how to orchestrate international co-productions for feature films, tv movies and mini-series for Jaffe Bronstein, DreamWorks, Disney, Sony, Alliance, CBC and Turner.
Since 2000 Karen has also worked with Joe Media and Recoil Creative, successfully developing, producing and financing a sizeable amount of network television for CBC, Shaw Media, Discovery, Bell Media, Corus, including 6 seasons of doc series Fish Out of Water and the feature film The Burlesque Assassins for Super Channel.
Her credits span 100+ episodes of award-winning documentary series programming, a feature film, a dramatic series pilot, and a Gemini-nominated performing arts doc, Joni Mitchell's The Fiddle and The Drum which Joni refers to as the most important project of her artistic career.
Paige Boudreau Writer - Producer - Director
Paige has a passion for storytelling and a drive to make everything she works on the best it can be. Her resourcefulness and positive attitude are invaluable on set, and her background in editing gives her an edge while in post-production.
Recently Paige worked full-time with Recoil Creative Group as a producer/director. Her day-to-day docket included the third season of FishCamp, a reality fishing series, as well as the development and production of a new scripted comedy pilot tentatively titled The Wilmore Boys. She also oversaw the production of various internal commercials and other interstitials for WildTV.
Previously Paige was employed at Spotlight Productions as a writer/producer/director. Through Spotlight she completed 120 episodes of Let’s Talk English, a half-hour series for OMNI Rogers, and was and integral part of a follow up series for OMNI Rogers titled Good Taste. In addition to her role on broadcast projects, she collaborated on documentaries, corporate videos, and commercials big and small.
Before Spotlight Paige worked as a production coordinator for Jump Studios and managed high-profile projects for networks such as ESPN, NBC, and HBO. During her time at Jump she was also in charge of post-production and VFX supervision on feature films such as The Future Is Now!, PSUEDO: Blood of Our Own, and Vanishing Point.
Paige’s personal film projects have screened at festivals across North America, with her latest film SKYLINE premiering at the PollyGrind festival in Las Vegas. She currently has several feature film projects in development.
Jimmie Young Research - Writer - Development
When Jimmie isn’t narrating a doc series or composing original music, he’s scanning the massive content universe to ensure that the storytelling at Dreamers Rock remains ahead of the curve. A champion for innovative approaches and great characters, Jimmie is instrumental in the development of series pitches for The McKeevers, Lex, Water Giants, the music documentary The Burden, and the Comedy Pilot, The Wilmore Boys.
Irene Sommerfeldt, Post Production Supervision - Editing
Having Irene on our post production roster brings over 22 years in both Offline and Online editing, as well as colourization for a multitude of series and blue chip documentaries. She has enjoyed working with Disney, Mattel, YTV, Cartoon Network, BBC, and many more. With extreme attention to detail on deliverables, Dreamers Rock remains specialized in AVID editing systems and is always looking forward to the next challenge!
